Some of the most common forms of vibration and stress induced
fatigue result from poor heat exchanger design, or the failure
to incorporate suitable safeguards within
the heat exchanger design. Sometimes, however, this is due to
the limited availability of technologies that allow
best-practice heat exchanger designs.
For example, ribbon-wound finned tubes and multi-tube cores can
be difficult to support in long heat exchangers, resulting in
premature failure through fatigue. |
ElfinBlock finned cores benefit from a unique combination of
attributes that make it more practical to negate many of the
negative effects of vibration, particularly in longer heat
exchangers:-
Integral tube supporting mechanisms
Inter-locking fin construction
Greater material flexibility
These three simple attributes allow the use of the right
materials, properly supported or dampened and without the risk
of the fin unravelling.
