Applied Cooling Technology offers a full repair and
refurbishment service for most fluid and gas cooled heat
exchangers.
Heat exchangers require periodic maintenance from cleaning to
re-tubing and in the worse case scenario, re-manufacturing. We
have a team of fully qualified staff to carry out this work
either in our factory or on-site. With nearly 30 years of
experience of this work we have encountered most problems
associated with old heat exchangers which has led to the
development of several patented products and technologies aimed
at prolonging the life of heat exchangers.
These technologies include:-
Dri-Seal
Jiffi-Plug - the safest and most convenient method of
plugging failed heat exchanger tubes
Dri-Seal Façade Tubeplate Protection System - for cost
effective life extension of eroded or corroded heat exchanger
tubeplates
Dri-Seal
Tube Insert - protect the ends of heat exchanger tubes from
turbulence induced erosion
These products can be incorporated in initial designs but more
often are used during a repair or refurbishment programme to
combat corrosion,
erosion,
stress
corrosion cracking etc. |
Utilising existing headers, frames and even tubes, with the
Dri-Seal Façade Tubeplate Protection System keeps the cost down,
but in those instances where the tubes are replaced it is
possible to design improvements to the performance with the use
of enhancers as well as prolonging the life of the unit.
Over 80% of heat exchanger failures occur either at the inlet
face of the tube plate or the first 50 to 100mm of the
inlet-pass tubes. Tube inserts have been in use for many years
in order to stem tube end corrosion. However, the Dri-Seal
Façade System has been developed to protect the whole tube plate
and tube end area by sealing this vulnerable zone with a unique
triple seal system. Experience has show that this system is so
effective that even cracked ligaments in the plate are sealed
automatically against further leakage. This system utilises a
secondary tube plate, backed by a non-porous neoprene gasket
joint (to protect the tube plate face). Pre-formed metallic tube
inserts with ‘O’ ring seals are used to both protect the tube
ends and also to fix the Façade in place.
Various materials may be specified depending on the tube-side
temperature and chemical, fluid or gas involved.
This service can be carried out on-site or at our workshops. |
