Livestock (53) The health and productivity of livestock in confinement buildings is closely related to the heating and ventilation system employed within the building. Elfin technology is an ideal method of production for extended surface tubes used in the convection and radiation of water heating systems in livestock confinement and indoor plant growing buildings. Collared, fluted mild steel discs are swaged into position 25mm apart, on 25mm diameter mild steel tubes. The complete unit is then galvanised to prevent corrosion. The 4 metre lengths of tube are joined together on site to provide a continuous length through which heated water is passed to provide the space heating. Any number of methods of heating the water can be used, including mains or bottled gas, coal, oil, electric, biomass, solar, or geothermic depending on the source of supply, cost and installation consideration.
